2022 Goals
2022 is off to a great start! We’re pumped for an epic year of training and racing. There’s a lot on the schedule as we prepare for Ironman Des Moines and Ironman Lake Placid. As you can tell, we’re taking it very seriously! But we’re also not taking it seriously…
In fact the main goal for the year is simply to enjoy training and racing!
This includes many bike rides that start and end at breweries, more trail or soft surface runs, and just being focused on the positive experiences rather than performance expectations.
That said, I have some more specific goals that will be fun to chase and I’ll try to keep you all updated on the progress made via this blog and YouTube (along with other social platforms!).
Griffin’s Major 2022 Goals:
Enjoy training and racing!
Focus on the fundamentals: strength, endurance, speed-work
Practice yoga EVERY DAY!
Be able to hold fun arm balances: handstand, firefly, flying pigeon specifically
Training Goals
A) Run 2000 miles (roughly 40/mi per week)
B) Bike 250 hours (roughly 5 hours/per week)
C) Swim occasionally 😉
Run a sub 4:20 mile
Run a sub 15 minute 5k
Marathon PR: Either in training or an Ironman as I’m not signed up for an actual race this year (I know it won’t count)
Bike 100 miles on Zwift in under 5 hours
Go with the flow!
